Amateur-ish Attempts at Haiku

Since I'm no good at Japanese, I decided to try out the 5-7-5 syllable pattern in English instead..

THE BIGGER CREATURES:

Ants toil in a team
patiently they carry crumbs
and do not nibble.

THE ELEGANT SILENCE:

Guard-dog madly barks
stray-dog, calmly passes by
understands the job.

THE WOMAN WHO GETS LITTLE CREDIT:

Toddler reaches out
crying for dad's warm embrace
mum is left alone.

THE SUDDEN REMINDER:

A flash of lightning
shortly the night becomes day
my lamp is humbled.
